And on the 7th day...

...past Santiago's birth, Santiago turned a week old.  This week has been a whirlwind of adjustments and emotions, propelled by a little fire in our chests.  The warmth has been there before, but the way it burns now is unprecedented.  We've now learned that sleep will come, sleep will come.  Diapers are no longer intimidating, and the sound of a little burp brings relief to our minds, relaxation to our faces.

He sleeps so well.  He wakes even better.  Our little guy (he's yours too) is a calm Samurai.  He studies you and the scene.  If uncomfort should come visit, he will kindly let you know and upon a slight readjustment, he will thank you with a wide mouth yawn, movement in his eyes.

Tomorrow Santiago turns 41 weeks since fertilization.  We commemorate more often time events post-natal, but let's not forget the long time he spent in mommy, being so loved and cared for, in the healthiest uterine environment conceivable.  No wonder he didn't want to come out yet.  But when he did come out, he was strong and healthy and ready to rock.

He's yours too.
