Dog Days

As Charlie regains his strength, his desire to play intensifies.  He wants to play at sunrise.  He wants to play after a 4 mile run.  He wants to play after eating.  And more than anything, he wants to play with Kaia.  Kaia has been a good sport, but Charlie plays a bit rough and really wants to play ALL the time.  So Kaia gets fed up.

This, along with her independent nature, has kept Kaia from cozying up to Charlie.  Usually, if Charlie gets within three feet of Kaia it triggers some switch in his little brain, and he can't stop himself from trying to play with her.  Kaia, on the other hand, would prefer more alone time to relax. 

Of course, on rare occassions, she lacks the energy to move when Charlie plops down beside her.  It took Kaia some time to accept that she had to share the couch, but eventually she relented . . .

Charlie has no preference when it comes to rest and relaxation.  He enjoys lounging on the couch, on his dog bed, on Kaia's dog bed, on a shared dog bed, in his crate, on the floor, and next to people.
